From the Student Side of the Ivory Tower

As internships play a critical role in arts and cultural management curricula, cultural organizations and academic programs need to remain aware of students' expectations of their internships. This cross-sectional international descriptive study addressed the following research question: What expectations do arts and cultural management students have of their internships? The study also investigated whether and how students' expectations differ across enrolment status and gender. The results have implications for how cultural organizations design and manage internships as well as how academic programs in arts and cultural management evaluate learning gained through internships
