Letter written by Thomas Campbell, signed "T. C." to Mary, probably his niece Mary Campbell, dated 61 Lincolns Inn Fields, June 26, 1838. It is concerned with his health and activities surrounding the coronation of Queen Victoria. He attended the royal levee on Wednesday with Joseph Gwilt, but was indisposed with gastric fever and unable to eat. The Earl Marshall has sent him a ticket for a seat in Poet's Corner at Westminster Abbey for the coronation on Thursday, but Campbell doubts if he will be able to attend. He has ceased work on Petrarch, but has the news that 6,000 copies of his poems have sold within the year.
