Iris Davis, a student pursuing her doctorate degree (PhD) in Communication Sciences & Disorders at Florida State University's College of Communication & Information, is focusing in early childhood education-- more specifically, autism. She is currently training childhood educators on how to recognize early signs of autism in order to alert parents or doctors and incorporate early intervention. Early diagnosis and intervention, as she explains, is vital for better long-term outcomes. For anyone looking to start graduate school, Iris advises to find something you love and are willing to study for a long period of time, particularly while pursuing a PhD program. "
