Faculty members in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health teach students in all four years of the medical curriculum via lecture and small groups, and in the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center. In addition, faculty members mentor and teach students one-on-one while providing patient care in community-based clinics in Tallahassee and across the state. The mission of the department is to educate and develop exemplary physicians who practice patient-centered health care, discover and advance knowledge, and are responsive to community needs, especially through services to elder, rural, minority, and underserved populations.
