- Van Amburgh jointly takes over an opera house with Mr. Carter, to be used for circus performance. The reporter sees them and the circus as unworthy of the venue.
- George Catlin brings a group of Native Americans, Ojibwe/Chippewa, to England, although they are accompanied by his nephew Burr. They tour the brewery of Traman, Hanbury and Co. They drink, perform, and receive gifts.

Description:
Crystal Palace- A taxidermied elephant arrives at the Crystal Palace. It is said to come from the Saffron Walden museum, despite rumours of other origins.
- While in Berlin, an animal fight is staged by Frederick I for the Duke of Marlborough. It involved a trooper's horse, a bull, a lion, a tiger, a bear, and a wolf. Description of the fight.
- Massarti (Thomas McCarte) is torn apart by lions in front of a live audience. One lion got angry and attacked, and the other four in the act followed suit.

Bartholomew Fair- The Bartholomew Fair is approaching, but neither Wombwell nor any other major exhibitor has applied for space. Smaller dramatic exhibits have applied.
Astley's Amphitheatre- Mr. W. Cooke is restoring Astley's to its former glory with new acts, such as the "smallest horse in the world, new tightrope acts, etc.

- A group of Native Americans, Ojibwe/Chippewa, brought to England by George Catlin visit the St. George's Archery Club. Comparison of Native American vs. English archery equipment. They drink with their hosts.
- A baboon called Jackoo, being sent as a gift between friends, slips his chains while at sea. Upon arrival, he goes from house to house removing roof tiles. He is eventually caught.
- Exhibitions at the Great Room, Piccadilly. Les Ombres Chinoises/China Shades/Lilliputian Theatre, comic skits, Signor Rossignol's bird imitations, the Little Conjuring Horse and Learned Dog (which do card tricks).
Vauxhall Gardens- Vauxhall Gardens opens after two years of being closed. Mr. Ducrow, formerly of Astley's bring his equestrian act to the Gardens, to great acclaim.
- Fear for the safety of Charles Green and his balloonists. Explanation of their methods and supplies, supposedly allowing them to stay aloft for nearly a month if necessary. Seen headed toward Amsterdam.

- A kangaroo belonging to an MP named W.J. Evelyn escapes, and a standard hunting party is formed to catch it, beagles and all. It is caught, and its keeper's shoulder is injured by its embrace.
- An orangutan imported to the Zoological Society from Borneo has died, seven years later. It has been preserved and is on display at the Society's Museum.
