The 17th-20th Century Correspondence and Documents consists of letters, documents, and various forms of correspondence relating to notable names and celebrities from between 1618 and 1981. These documents have either been transcribed to or from the personalities in question or have been written in discussion of these individuals. Some documents have been previously digitized as a part of the Edward Lear Papers.

: Memorandum of events following the death of Mr. Pearson on January 2, 1799; Memorandum of events following Mr. George Pearson's death on January 2, 1799. April 19, 1799, description of an event regarding fifty-six pounds. May 7th-12th, 1801 descriptions of a gift of two-hundred pounds as well as the burning of papers owned by Mr. Pearson. Description of a transaction of seven-hundred pounds or a property.

: Military document requesting pay, signed by agent Silvester Stukley, 1702; Military document requesting pay for soldiers from March 1st, and for private soldiers from their time of enlistment. Backside of the document refers to William North, the 6th Baron North and an English soldier.

: Mounted letters from Thomas and Matilda Campbell to the Moore family, December 10, 1835; Two letters mounted on paper, both dated to Thursday, presumably the Thursday December 10th, 1835, as transcribed on Thomas Campbell's letter. Mr. Campbell writes to Louisa Moore and regretfully declines her invitation to join her family at the zoo, and jokes that he is not upset to miss seeing the new monkey. Mrs. Matilda Campbell writes to Mrs. James Carrick Moore confirming their visiting tomorrow. Attached to the letters is a printed clipping showing a statue of Thomas Campbell erected at Glasgow.

: Note autographed by Giacomo-Maria-Carlo Denina and Antoine-Alexandre Barbier, 1812; Note signed by Giacomo-Maria-Carlo Denina and Antoine-Alexandre Barbier including list of either an inventory or cost of books regarding the Bibliothèque du Louvre.que de L'Empereur, Napoleon.

: Note from Estelle Ardrey to Thorton Utz, October 2, 1964; Estelle Ardrey requests price information for maps if complimentary copies are not available. This note comes from the Documents-Maps Division at the Florida State University Library.

: Note from Henry Fiennes Clinton, April 12, 1782; Henry Fiennes Clinton, Earl of London and Duke of Newcastle, recommends George Clarke as a good servant. Clarke worked for the Duke of Kingston who had a good opinion of him.

: Note from John Dewey to Dean Nathaniel Salley, December 5, 1928; John Dewey writes to Dean Salley of Florida State University, enclosing a corrected document and hopes that it is not too late.

: Note from John Newcomb to George Pearson, March 14, 1775; Receipt of payment from George Pearson to John Newcomb of one thousand and forty-three pounds for various properties.

: Note from Lady Biddulph to George Pearson; Lady Biddulph thanks George Pearson for sending cheese, offers a horse for Pearson to load clusters of pine, and mentions a Mr. Hoo and Mr. Sutton.

: Note from Lady Biddulph to George Pearson; Lady Biddulph discusses the administration of medicine to Miss M. Westley. Prescribe one teaspoon of medicine twice a day.

: Note from Lady Biddulph to George Pearson; Lady Biddulph states that Theophilus Biddulph is gone fishing and cannot reply to his and Pearson's previous correspondence. Lady Biddulph asks why Mrs. Vyners wouldn't mention her cold when she came to their estate as she and Theophilus wish to avoid it.

: Note from Lady Biddulph to George Pearson, September 19; Lady Biddulph requests if a woman were to continue making her cheese on a weekly basis.

: Note from Lady Shuckburgh to Mr. Davy, April 15; Lady Shuckburgh, wife of one of the Shuckburgh baronets, writes to a Mr. Davy asking to acquire her a breeding hen canary bird from Mr. Pearson.

: Note from Sir Theophilus Biddulph to George Pearson, April 30, 1766; Sir Theophilus Biddulph invites George Pearson and Miss Westley to Birbury to see the flowers.
