This presentation was given as part of the FSU Graduate School's "Publish or Perish: Early Career Publishing in STEM" workshop. The presentation covers topics related to the economics of academic publishing, the publishing process in STEM disciplines, choosing a journal or conference, etiquette of responding to editors, handling rejection with your self-esteem intact, revising, resubmitting, and more. Other topics addressed during the workshop included open access (OA) publishing, authors' rights, and compliance with federal public access mandates.
