The notebook is a small book consisting of 33 leaves (6 blank) and 7 partial leaves. The major portion contains business transactions between Lewis Gregory and various other persons whose names or family names are found in early Gadsden County history. The business entries date from 1837 to 1861 and deal with various agricultural products including beef, pork, mutton, sugar, peas, tobacco, cotton, butter, etc. Near the back are found eleven pages of family records dating from 1781 to 1885.
