Ashley Carter
Say it in 6: "Further your dreams with a fellowship" Dr. Ashley Carter, a recipient of the McKnight Doctoral Fellowship, graduated Spring 2018 with a PhD in Nutrition & Food Sciences. She decided to pursue a graduate degree because of her interest in understanding health disparities and chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Her research is important because of the impact that nutrition has on people living with chronic diseases and/or those who have a high risk for chronic diseases. Ashley hopes to decrease health disparities by educating underserved populations about chronic diseases, prevention, and health support services.
