The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of songs in Spanish by music therapists according to song suggestions within music therapy Facebook groups. A content analysis of 84 posts and 487 comments from two music therapy Facebook groups was completed. A total of 304 songs in Spanish, 75 artists, 23 genres, and 32 resources were identified. Suggestions were aimed at a variety of age groups, and for hospital, hospice, and unspecified settings. Music therapy professionals are using and looking for suggestions of music in Spanish to use with their Spanish-speaking clients. Further research is needed to develop repertoire lists aimed at Spanish-speaking clients to assist music therapy professionals and students working with these populations, as well as music therapists’ use of social media platforms for collaboration and sharing of information.
