Interview with Margie Thompson, July 8, 2021
Interview was conducted by student Catherine Hannon. Ms. Thompson speaks about how she and two of her friends travelled most weekends. They were in Lucerne, Switzerland at the time of the Florence Flood in November 1966. Ms Thompson and her friends could not return to Florence. She details how a Swiss farming family allowed the students to stay with them for two days in exchange for help around the farm. Ms Thompson details the impact of the Flood on Florence, how students evacuated to Rome and continued with coursework after winter vacation.
