Herman Autore
"Say it in 6: "Learning is fun. Have fun!" Herman is completing a PhD in electrical engineering at Florida State University. His research currently concentrates on artificial intelligence applied to drug discovery in blood. Herman is also interested in gene therapy – selectively correcting disease-causing genes by replacing them with healthy genes. Herman received a McKnight Doctoral Fellowship and found that he had been given more than a fellowship—he had been adopted into a family. Herman finds encouragement in mingling with this family of hard-working, inquisitive individuals dedicated to learning and science. Herman looks forward to presenting research at conferences, which the McKnight Fellowship will support. Eventually, he looks forward to being part of the research community and helping solve medical problems with technology. "
