Mercedes Spencer
"Say it in 6: Missing from Summary Mercedes entered the PhD program in Developmental Psychology at Florida State under the auspices of a five-year Predoctoral Interdisciplinary Training Fellowship from the Institute of Education Sciences. Her research concentration has a broad focus on development in children's language and literacy skills and the interaction between those various skills. Her research has been additionally recognized with the Mark and Florida Charness Cognitive Science Fellow Award in 2016, the Graduate Student Research and Creativity Award from FSU, and a National Institutes of Health Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award. Each of these awards has allowed Mercedes to devote her time and effort to her education and research, which in turn has resulted in her making meaningful contributions to her field. "
