Pengpeng Wang

"Say it in 6: "Explore something different; challenge yourself." Pengpeng is a PhD student in Statistics at Florida State. She came from China to Florida to pursue this degree not only for the warm weather, but also because of the funding and faculty expertise that FSU's Department of Statistics offers. Pengpeng is working on improving the accuracy of current statistical models related to disease by focusing on correlations between trends in medical testing and the relative risks of having a disease. Her hope is to help develop means of providing earlier diagnoses and treatments. Her career goal is to begin as a statistician helping with drug development within a pharmaceutical company, and then to become a clinical study lead and clinical study manager in the same industry. Pengpeng was a finalist in Florida State's Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition in 2018. "
