Sherrina Lofton

"Say it in 6: "Because it had to be me."  Sherrina is pursuing her PhD in Sports Management in Florida State's College of Education because of her passion for helping black male and female athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field/court. As an athlete herself, and as someone who has worked around athletes for some time, Sherrina is in a unique position to do this. Her research focuses on successful methods of fostering lifelong success for young athletes, and she hopes this information will help athletic teams and organizations prepare their athletes for life after sports. She received a McKnight Doctoral Fellowship to support her program and has benefitted from the extensive McKnight network. Sherrina plans on working at an HBCU and owning her own business. "
