Shiyi Chen
Say it in 6: Missing from Summary Shiyi is a doctoral student in Educational Psychology within Florida State University's College of Education, and also has a Master's Degree in Childhood Development and Family Studies. Her PhD research focuses on the quality of teacher-perceived relationships with children from impoverished backgrounds and the impacts of those relationships and perceptions on children's learning. She is also interested in understanding teacher job-related stress and early literacy. Shiyi is passionate about teaching young children, and her time as a Teaching Assistant at Florida State has given her new outlooks on teacher-student relationships. Through increased engagement in her classes, Shiyi has not only developed relationships with her students but has also found new ways to motivate students to do their best work.
