Martin Tsui
"Say it in 6: ""Go big or go home, seriously."" Martin's PhD program in Molecular Biophysics at Florida State has been defined by an interdisciplinary focus, involving structural biology, biophysics, and biochemistry. In 2015, Martin was awarded the American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship to fund his project, which carries potential application for gene therapy treating inherited diseases and other related fields of research. For Martin, the application process for this fellowship was a meaningful opportunity in itself: it motivated him to summarize his research progress and career development, which led to valuable reflection upon his goals, research networks, and strengths and weaknesses as a researcher. Martin found that the application process itself can provide a valuable metric for the early-career researcher, and from it he gained invaluable career perspective. "
