Eliana is a nonbinary person who uses she/they pronouns who is interested in music and art. They discuss how heteronormative gender roles were forced on them in their home and while attending a Catholic school. They discuss the ramifications of growing up in a deeply conservative home and growing up in a Catholic school as a queer person. They were outed at a young age before they were able to tell anyone themselves, and feeling unsafe at home and in some areas of Tallahassee as a queer-femme person who expresses themselves through femme clothing and their personal style. hey discuss the community they've found during college and how the punk community has been welcoming to her and the queer community in general in the area. This community helps them feel more comfortable when they live with someone who makes her feel unsafe. She feels like she is unable to make friends easily which makes it hard to find a support system, especially during the pandemic which has made finding community much more difficult.
