The Book Review Digest has been the major tool in gathering data. Its concise summaries of books have been used to indicate the scope and content of the books. It has also been used as a source of critical opinion found in the general reviewing media. In addition, scholarly journals in special fields of Madariaga's interest have been consulted for reviews of books which pertain to their respective fields"--Introduction.
