This paper was presented by Marlys Richert, Assistant Director of Home Economics at the University of Wisconsin at the National Workshop for State Leaders of Home Economics Extension in Lincoln, Nebraska. It focuses on the research findings which have implications for the development of Home Economics programs for urban women. The research speaks on the city as a physical surrounding of the urban family, about social structures, and about the socio-economic and socio-psychological characteristics of the women within the structures.
