Tarik has lived in North Florida for most of his life and discusses the difficulties of growing up in a conservative area as he tried to discover himself. Tarik also discusses the intersections queerness, paganism, and neurodivergence, and how these intersections often compound oppression in the South. Tarik talks on the fallacy of normalcy, and the institutional powers that define what "normal" is in any community. He also discusses the evolution of his understanding masculinity as he became more involved in various alternative scenes.
