Aaron is an openly gay professor in the Humanities department of Florida State University. He begins with a description of his early life growing up in a Southern Baptist Church, and discusses his experiences with the church and how it influenced his ideas of masculinity. Aaron goes on to describe the importance of queer theory (and early feminist theory) in his formation of personal, political, and sexual identity. He also discusses some of his experiences as an openly gay professor and some interactions with students surrounding his identity.
