"Say it in 6: "Education is the tool for change." Hellena aspires to impact the community by creating effective policies that will protect against economic disparity and social inequality. It is for this reason that she is pursuing her MS in Urban & Regional Planning and Public Administration in Florida State's College of Social Sciences & Public Policy. She is particularly interested in land-use and comprehensive planning and in emergency management. Her field enables her to tackle issues like the provision of affordable housing, climate change, sanitation improvement, and sustainability promotion. Hellena received a FAMU Feeder Fellowship to pursue her program. At Florida State, she has learned how to promote democracy, diversity, and equity in the process of planning, and these tools she hopes to use in her future career. "
