Pablo Correa
"Say it in 6: "To have the best possible chance."" Pablo Correa earned his PhD in Communication Theory at Florida State as a McKnight Doctoral Fellow. His work combines critical theory, rhetoric, and media production, focusing on the visual rhetoric of the civil rights movement. He uses this research to highlight marginalized voices of instrumental figures who participated in the civil rights movement but who may not be as popular as Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King, Jr. Pablo scours archives across the country to tell the story of black struggle, resistance, and resilience in the U.S. He plans to use his skills and training to tell important stories, and wants to help others do the same, teaching disadvantaged youth to use media production equipment to tell their own stories.
