Matteo Luzzeri
"Say it in 6: Missing from Summary Matteo Luzzeri is pursuing his doctoral degree (PhD) in Sports Psychology from Florida State University's College of Education. His main research interest revolves around validating protocoled interventions to help athletes improve mental attributes that affect performance. This research interest complements his passion for mental performance consultation that he does with athletes as part of his practicum to obtain the Mental Performance Consultant certification from the American Association of Sport Psychology (AASP). He is currently working on two intervention studies. The first looks at the effectiveness of Performance Profiling on increasing self-awareness, intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, and attitudes towards sport psychology services with Division I and club athletes. The second looks at the role of a goal-setting and a values intervention in increasing persistence to engage in a difficult task. As for his dissertation, he is focusing on the concept of meaning within a sport; he hopes to understand if athletes attribute and search for meaning in their sport. "
