Moussa Camara is an African gay man who grew up in Abidjan, on the Ivory Coast of West Africa. Camara loved to dance from childhood and used dance as a form of therapy from an early point in his life.They discuss how Camara taught African dancing in french schools, and met a professor from the United States who offered him a position teaching African Dance and culture in St. Louis. Camara went on to teach as an adjunct professor at universities across the country until settling in Tallahassee where he has started an african dance company. The company focuses on teaching African culture while also teaching acceptance, meeting people where they are, and using dance as a form of connection and community building.
